Do I need a referral? Can I go to any physical therapy clinic?

Louisiana now allows direct access to physical therapy, which allows people to seek the services of a skilled physical therapist for musculoskeletal issues (back pain, neck pain, hip and knee pain etc...) rather than obtaining a doctor's prescription first.  However we advise you check your with your insurance company to see what their policies are for payment.

What do I need to bring with me? How should I dress?

On your first visit, you need to bring your insurance card(s) and your prescription. You should bring comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear depending on your injury.  You will need a valid government picture ID and all minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Who will see me? How long will each treatment last? How many visits will I need?

You will be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist on your first visit and a plan of care will be designed for follow up visits under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. Each treatment session lasts approximately one hour. The number of visits will be decided at time of evaluation or according to your doctor’s prescription. If additional visits are indicated, we will obtain proper authorization from your doctor.

Physical therapy is a conservative approach to treat musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. Physical therapy utilizes modalities and manual techniques to rehabilitate injuries, decrease pain, and return patients to prior fitness levels.

Will my insurance cover physical therapy treatment? How does the billing process work?

Once we receive your insurance information, we will verify your benefits. Benefits are on a case-by-case basis. Depending on your specific plan, you may be responsible for a co-payment or a portion of your bill. We file all claims as a courtesy to our patients. Our goal is for patients to be pain-free. If you experience financial hardships, please contact our billing office immediately for a convenient payment plan.

What will I do after physical therapy?

After you have achieved your maximum potential, you will be equipped with a home exercise program to help you maintain your progress. We also offer a wellness program to our previous patients at a reasonable rate.
